Morris Lions Larry and Joanne Johnson present an $800 check to Brent Newman CEO of Grundy County Housing Authority for the Saratoga Towers food pantry.

Saratoga towers has been the recipient of the Random Acts of Kindness from the Morris Lions Club. The Lions have started making trips to the Illinois Food Bank to help the residents at Saratoga Towers keep their food pantry full. We also bought a new refrigerator/freezer to store meat and produce etc. This allows the residents there to have a much more variable menu and some foods that would not be available through regular channels.

Morris Lions took on a major rehab project for Santa’s House in Morris starting this fall, replacing the roof and cupola, painting inside and out, replacing curtains and window seat and refurbishing Santa’s chair.  A Kris Kringle celebration was held December 22 to welcome Santa and visitors to his renewed house, with over 200 visitors enjoying hot chocolate and cookies.

Morris Lions worked together to create a float for the Home for the Holidays Parade to welcome Santa, winning a prize for the float.
