Annual Halloween Costume Contest

Calling all Halloween Critters and Characters

Whether the youngsters at your house plan to be Ladybugs or Storm Troopers, Zombies or Teddy Bears, everyone in costume is encouraged to gather by 3:45 on the front lawn of the Grundy County Courthouse on Thursday, October 25th.

The Morris Lions Club will once again be hosting the annual Halloween Costume Contest on the lawn in front of the Grundy County Courthouse on Thursday, October 25th.  Parents are encouraged to bring children in costumes to the Court House lawn between 4:00 and 4:15 to register before the judging starts at 4:30. Prizes will be awarded in the following age groups:  ages 0-2, ages 3-4, ages 5-6, ages 7-8, ages 9-10, ages 11-12, and ages 13 and up. Adults are encouraged to come in costume as well, to be judged in the 13 and up category. In case of bad weather, the judging will be moved to Eagles Hall, across from the courthouse.

Following the announcement of the winners, treats will be provided by the Morris Lions, so everyone should have a bag or container for treats.  The downtown merchants will be offering treats as well for costumed Halloween participants, starting at 5:00 PM, after the Halloween Costume Contest concludes, until 7:00 PM.
